Minoxidil (Generic Rogaine®) for Women

Can minoxidil help with hair regrowth?

Minoxidil is a well-known and effective FDA-approved treatment that stimulates hair regrowth while reducing hair loss.

  • Twice a day 2% liquid dropper and once a day 5% foam and application stimulates shrunken hair follicles and penetrates the scalp to enable regrowth of your hair
  • In order to see visible results, you must be consistent with the application of minoxidil
How does minoxidil work?

Minoxidil may prolong the anagen (growth phase) and shorten the telogen phase (shedding) while inducing the enlargement of miniaturized follicles.

  • Results typically appear within 3-6 months
  • If treatment is halted, new hair will most likely shed
Minoxidil vs. Rogaine®

Minoxidil is a generic medication.

  • Rogaine® is the brand name
  • The generic form has the same active ingredients and is much less expensive

FAQ

Need answers?

Is minoxidil a good fit for everyone?
There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to medication. Depending on your medical history and the health of your hair, your Admired provider will decide what dosage is right for you.
What dosage of minoxidil is better, 2% or 5%?
The 5% foam has reduced risk of side effects and users report less scalp irritation and dandruff.
Why should I purchase minoxidil from Admired instead of my local pharmacy?
While the medication is the same, when you choose Admired, you will have a stress-free experience. No doctor's visits or waiting rooms, no insurance hassles, and hair loss prescriptions are discreetly delivered to your door. Get back to being you again.
How long does minoxidil take?
It will take at least six months to see the benefits.
How should I apply minoxidil?
Start with dry hair and a dry scalp. With the 2% and 5% solution, apply 1 ml directly to the scalp. Please note the 2% solution will be applied twice a day and the 5% solution will be applied once a day. With the 5% foam, use ½ capful and apply directly to the scalp. The solution and foam can be applied with your fingertips or a head massager. If the former, ensure you thoroughly wash your hands.
When I go off of minoxidil, will my hair go back to being thin?
Minoxidil only works while you use it. Patient's can expect the rate of hair fall to return to what it was prior to starting minoxidil. Over time, hair volume will return to what it was prior to minoxidil use due to this hair fall. Hair fall does not occur more rapidly after discontinuing minoxidil.
Do I need insurance to purchase medications?
With Admired, you do not need any form of insurance, which makes for a much easier path to get your yeast infection meds. We create a more attainable, affordable, and private option.
Does Admire keep my information confidential?

Yes. Please refer to our privacy policy to understand how we protect your privacy.

You should not be taking minoxidil if:
If you have a history of allergic reaction to minoxidil use, scalp issues (psoriasis or eczema), heart disease or history of heart attack, or liver failure.
Are there any side effects associated with minoxidil use?
Side effects include burning or irritation at the application site, dizziness/lightheadedness, rapid heart beat, swelling of the hands or feet, difficulty breathing.
